ANNOUNCES APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR TWO NEW MEDICAL FUNDS The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region is now accepting applications for two new medical funds. The Kang-A-Rhue Children’s Cancer Fund’s purpose is to enrich the lives of area children with chronic and life threatening illnesses and their families, with a major focus on those children with cancer. Applications are being sought from 501c3 charitable organizations offering services to such individuals in Danville, Pittsylvania and Caswell Counties. The Bobby Hawker Memorial Fund’s purpose is to continue his passion of enriching the lives of individuals affected by HIV and AIDS and their families. Applications are also being sought from 501c3 charitable organizations offering services to these individuals in Danville, Pittsylvania and Caswell Counties. Applications are available from The Community Foundation office at 541 Loyal Street, Danville, VA 24541 or by calling 434-793-0884. Anyone can make additional donations to either the Kang-A-Rhue or Bobby Hawker Fund. Checks should be made to The Community Foundation, with the fund specified, and mailed to P.O. Box 1039, Danville, VA 24543. The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region is a public charity
with total assets nearing $17 million. Over 700 community foundations
exist in the United States, with 23 in Virginia.
