This #GivingTuesday consider giving to your favorite nonprofit organization or cause. Every dollar given makes a difference in the life and health of the organization. If you need help deciding where to give, check out our list of funds and scholarships on our website. This Giving Tuesday, consider supporting National Day of Service Mini Grants in Virginia! Across the Commonwealth, non-profit organizations, faith-based groups, and others plan National Day of Service projects honoring MLK Day in January and 9/11 Day of Remembrance in September. Each year, Serve Virginia and the Virginia Service Foundation support these efforts through Day of Service Mini Grants. This fall, we funded 12 mini-grants on the 9/11 Day of Service, engaging more than 100 volunteers. Your financial support on Giving Tuesday would make it possible for the Virginia Service Foundation to support additional projects through National Day of Service Mini Grants, engaging hundreds of additional volunteers in service to their communities in 2025. Each grantee receives up to $250 and a donation of any size will help us support more volunteers throughout Virginia.Make a gift to support Virginia’s volunteers: servevirginia.org/news-and-events/how-will-you-give-back-on-giving-tuesday/#GivingTuesday #VirginiaServiceFoundation #VirginiaIsForVolunteers See MoreSee Less

The Community Foundation would like to thank all of our service members for protecting our country through the years. This year, in memory of Davis Newman, we would like to share a touching message from him, just months before he passed away. “Thoughts bubble up of veteran’s stories when I think of the wonderful time we spent building the Veteran’s Memorial to all our heroes, hopefully leaving a history lesson for our children and their children to learn how to appreciate what they have to enjoy. Just always remember, there was a life, some of them very young, behind each name on the wall and every brick in the walkway. This serves as a reminder that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!”—Davis Newman See MoreSee Less
