One of our favorite times of the year is scholarship season, which runs from January 1 through March 1. This time of the year allows us to learn about student in the Dan River Region — their dreams and aspirations as well as their struggles and hurts. Take it from us, the scholars in our community are incredible individuals who are going places and we’re very excited to be a part of their journey.
It is thanks to our many donors we offer scholarships to high school seniors graduating from our local high schools as well as to college students and graduate students.
While our scholarship application process closed March 1, The Foundation’s staff and the distribution committee, which is comprised of members of our Board of Directors, are in the process of reading through all of the applications. The recipients of post-secondary scholarships for the 2026-27 school year will be notified in late May and a scholarship reception will be held in June.
