25th Anniversary

In 2021, The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff were honored to celebrate 25 years of service and community impact in the Dan River Region!

As we prepare for the future, The Foundation’s Board and staff are committed to enhanced development in pursuit of our mission: to improve and enrich area lives through the generosity of donors. In recognition of our 25th Anniversary, The Foundation held a successful fundraising campaign with the purpose of raising funds for key program areas including Emergency Preparedness, Animal Services, Arts & Culture, Community Development, Health and Wellness, Education and Youth Development, Human Services, and Scholarships. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the campaign raised $28,100, exceeding its original goal of $25,000!

As we collaborate on the future wellbeing of our region, please consider a gift to The Community Foundation to a fund of your choice! Gifts of all sizes are welcome. As always, our staff are here to help you personalize your charitable giving goals.

25th Anniversary Celebration Open House

CFDRR would like to thank the 58 guests who celebrated with us at our 25th Anniversary Open House on Sept. 10! The celebration included speakers and spontaneous sharing of stories highlighting CFDRR’s history of impact. CFDRR held a surprise $2,500 grant drawing in recognition of nonprofit organizations that are so vital in helping CFDRR connect donors to the resources and causes important to them and our community. Congratulations to the Virginia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, serving Danville-Pittsylvania County, winner of the drawing!
