DANVILLE, VA- The Riverview Rotary Club Endowment Fund has been established with The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region. The Fund will provide support for the scholarship and other charitable programs of the Riverview Rotary Club of Danville, Virginia.
“The Riverview Rotary Club Board is pleased to partner with The Community Foundation to continue our legacy of providing scholarships and community projects that include the Danville Art Trail, Danville Riverwalk Trail and others” said Dan Hayes, president.
“We are very excited to accept this fund on behalf of Riverview Rotary Club,” said Debra L. Dodson, executive director of The Community Foundation. “What an honor it will be to create lasting support for the great work of Riverview Rotary across our community.”
Anyone who has a special connection to the Riverview Rotary Club or their community projects can also support the Fund by sending donations to The Community Foundation, c/o the Riverview Rotary Fund, 541 Loyal Street, Danville, VA 24541. The Fund’s first community grants will be awarded after one year.
The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region is an independent, public charity established in September 1996 by a steering committee of local civic leaders to gather permanent funds to support our area. The Community Foundation has assets of $36 million and has awarded more than $22 million in grants and scholarships.
While the Foundation works with donors to establish funds to benefit any geographic area, our primary service area is Danville/Pittsylvania County, Virginia and Caswell County, North Carolina. Donations are also being sought to build up resources for South Boston/Halifax County, with consideration being given to other neighboring counties.
