25 Years of Community Impact- Happy New Year!

That’s a wrap!  Happy New Year from CFDRR!  As our twenty-fifth anniversary year comes to a close, we celebrate the Foundation’s community impact since 1996.  In the last twenty-five years, the Foundation has awarded $24 Million in grants to enhance quality of life across the Dan River Region; awarded $2.7 Million in scholarships to 1,371 students; received $51 Million in gifts given by Community Foundation Donors; and holds $51.5 Million in charitable assets dedicated to our region’s quality of life.  Thank you for your generous support over the last quarter century.  We look forward to creating many more years of community impact!

Scholarship Applications Being Accepted Until February 27, 2017

(DANVILLE, VA) – The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region is currently accepting applications for 46 different scholarships. Area students who are interested may apply online through the Foundation’s web site here. The deadline for all applications is February 27, 2017.

Students who are graduating seniors or former graduates from a high school in Danville or Pittsylvania County, Virginia or Caswell County, North Carolina may apply. Each scholarship may also have specific eligibility criteria that were defined by the donor. The online application system will determine your eligibility for each scholarship.

Last year the Foundation awarded 86 scholarships totaling more than $160,000 to area students. Since its formation in 1996, The Community Foundation has awarded 952 scholarships totaling more than $2.1 million.

The Community Foundation is a fully tax-exempt organization. Individuals, businesses or organizations may establish their own scholarship or endowment fund or may contribute any amount to existing funds.
